Sunday 25th September 2022
A Harvest Celebration Service of Morning Prayer was held at All Hallows'Church led by Mrs Anne Galbraith and Mrs Carol Adams.
At this harvest time Anne's reflection centered around many different aspects of the importance of food in our lives with refences to both past and present times.
We remember the recent food shortages during the Covid pandemic with the never to be forgotten image of the critical care nurse finishing a long shift and finding empty shelves in the supermarkets.
May we give thanks, particularly at this harvest time, to all those involved in the food industry, farmers, food producers and distributors, drivers and shopkeepers who all work so hard to ensure we have food on our table.
Jesus said: It is written
One does not live by bread alone
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God
Matthew.4.4.
The gifts of the congregation will be shared between The People's Kitchen and the West Northumberland Food Bank
