Shrove Tuesday Lunch

The committee of the Mothers' Union once again organised a Shrove Tuesday lunch at The General Havelock in Haydon Bridge. This  was attended by church members, a few people from the community as well as members of the Mothers' Union. 

We all enjoyed a very delicious lunch, and in keeping with tradition, pancakes with lemon, sugar and syrup were served to those who could manage them!

A raffle was held raising £148 for the branch.

Many thanks to all those involved in organising this very enjoyable event, good food, good company and good conversation.

Film Club

A few of us continued the afternoon by attending the Film Club held in the Church Room on the 3rd Tuesday of each month beginning with tea/coffee and cake at 3.30pm.

This month the film shown was 'About a Boy' starring Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult. A very amusing and entertaining film.
